New Broad-Gauge Rail Corridor to Connect Lothal and Dholera
The Centre has authorised officials to begin work on the Sabarmati–Dholera–Lothal railway projects in Gujarat, a significant boost to regional rail connectivity.
The plan includes a new broad-gauge double line between Sarkhej and Dholera spanning 109.16 km.
Dedicated Spur to NMHC and Dholera Airport
A dedicated 20.40 km spur line will connect the upcoming National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal and the Dholera International Airport.
Boosting Access and Investment
The rail link will dramatically improve access to Lothal and the wider NMHC corridor.
Complementing the Ahmedabad–Dholera expressway, it further strengthens the case for early investment in the region.
